A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Indiana Funeral Care and Crematory at 12:00 pm, with a visitation just prior from 10-12.

Arthur “A.J.” Martin was born September 2, 1937 in Monticello Mississippi to Charlene Martin and Roosevelt Baggett.  He received his education from the Monticello public schools.

A.J. worked long and hard for many years.  While in Minnesota he owned two restaurants and a janitorial service.  He also worked for Wonder Bread and Kroger Bakery as a trouble shooter and sanitation supervisor retiring from Kroger Bakery.

In his spare time A.J. enjoyed shooting pool, bowling, fishing, traveling, playing darts and get togethers with his family.

Arthur Martin departed this life Thursday July 23, 2015 in Indianapolis, IN at the age of 77 years old.

A.J. was preceded in death by his father, mother and son Shannon J. Martin.

He is survived by his wife Lila Martin, Son Javaris J. Martin, Daughters: Tiffany Meija, Nikol Kalmoe,    Sara Hubbard, Schkiria Martin and Rochelle McDaniels.  Siblings: Jearlean Coleman, Roan Parkman (Brenda), Rosemary Ross (Robert), Gaynell Allen (Kenneth) and Don Allen Baggett.  10 Grandchildren, One Great Grand Son, A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
